Star Wars Jedi: Survivor

Feb 28, 2024

Enhance the in-game map further by finding upgrades in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor to make collecting collectibles easier.

Considering the fact that Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is full of stuff to do and areas to explore, it can be very hard to keep track of everything. In fact, the world will only open up even further once Cal Kestis is able to get his hands on new abilities and technology. This will add even more replay value to old areas, allowing players to find new surprises and treasures every once in a while.

That said, while the in-game map certainly does a good job of highlighting alternate paths that may lead to something new, that is not its only function. Indeed, if players are more of the explorer type, there are several upgrades that they can seek out to make their lives easier when it comes to tracking collectibles. This guide on how to unlock all map upgrades in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will ensure no one is left behind in treasure hunting.

In total, there are five different kinds of map upgrades that can be found within the game. Each of them will enhance the Holomap further by displaying icons for a type of collectible like Priorite Shards. Here is the full list and where they can be found:

Obviously, with such power, it won't be easy for players to gain access to them. It is likely near the endgame before Cal has all the tools he needs to get to these upgrades. Read on for the instructions for each particular map upgrade:

This is a simple one to get, and it involves getting a green thumb. After recruiting the gardener, Pili Wade, on Jedha, players can return to Pyloon's Saloon and start planting the rooftop garden. Seeds can be obtained by cutting down plants in the wild with fireflies around them, so fill up each available section of the garden.

Take some time away, and once everything is grown, another plot of the garden will open up. Repeat, and once the entire rooftop is filled with greenery, the terminal near the roof's edge will no longer be covered in vines. Interact with it, and BD-1 will be upgraded, and the map will show all available seed pods in an area.

With chests containing all sorts of customization items and even a perk or two, it is imperative that players get as many of them as possible. The chest map upgrade can be found in the mysterious Phon'Qi Caverns. Head to Foothill Falls and use the Relter to glide down to an abandoned shack. Enter the hole, and a linear journey lies ahead.

Make full use of the acid balls that grow on the walls to clear any purple electrical barriers that stand in the way, and eventually, there will be a fight against three different Bedlam Raiders wielding lightsabers. Beat them, and the map upgrade terminal will be just ahead. The upgrade will show all chests, Stim Cannisters, and BD-1 slice upgrades available.

This particular map upgrade is found in the Alignment Control Center, which is located in the Untamed Downs on Koboh. There should be a visible doorway through the rock formation that will lead to an elevator going down into the spot.

Once inside, there will be several visible terminals that correspond to each of the seven different Meditation Chambers found on the planet. By completing them all and obtaining the different perks, each terminal will then turn green. Do it all successfully, and the terminal opposite will become active, and BD-1 can slice it to ensure the map now displays all Force Essence Crystals.

This will likely require the most time, as there are several steps involved to make this map upgrade accessible. Head over to the desert planet of Jedha, and look for the Wayfinder's Tomb. The tomb itself is locked from the start, and the hints point toward three different locations in the region that can help unlock the tomb.

Players will have to head to the Path of Conviction, the Path of Persistence, and the Path of Restoration to solve a puzzle involving moving a metal ball to the top of the structure. There are timed and movement elements to take note of, and once the ball is at the top, send it to its final resting place, and there will be changes at the Wayfinder's Tomb. With all three done, return to the tomb and take the elevator down to find the terminal with the map upgrade. This will then surface all Priorite Shards, Datadiscs, and other Treasures on the map.

Perfect for those that like to read into the lore of not just the game but the overall Star Wars universe, the databanks map upgrade is found on Nova Garon, specifically, the Central Command area. It is perhaps the most easy one out of all the upgrades to obtain, as it can be encountered during actual story progress. If not, head to the higher levels of Central Command, and go through the corridor to find an elevator.

Instead of taking it down, go around it towards the corner, and the terminal will be at the end. Interact with it to have BD-1 slice it, and now the Holomap will display all Databanks and Force Echoes in any territory.

With all five of the map upgrades in possession, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will now be easier for completionists to wipe the map clean. Of course, having all of these treasures and essences provide gameplay benefits as well through skill points and customization options, so it is always beneficial to hunt them down. Now, it will be a more straightforward task than before.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is available for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
